Arnie Nates

Arnie Nates has over 30 years’ experience working as a plumber and gas technician. He has worked at Tygerberg Training Hospital in Cape Town in South Africa, the biggest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere.

This involved installing industrial steam boilers, repairing main drain lines, steam lines and running new pipelines for the upgrade of the hospital.  Other jobs involved fixing all hot water units and flush valves, renovating wards for new plumbing, gas and steam lines. Whilst there, he was responsible for upgrading the mortuary with new faucets, and toilet facilities.

Arnie also worked in New Zealand doing all maintenance and renovation for Housing New Zealand State Housing. He was involved in installing and replacing gas hot water units, electrical work and doing refurbs to the state houses to accommodate the community. Jobs also involved repairing burst water mains and backflow prevention installs in fuel stations around the metropolitan area.

In Perth, Arnie worked for 10 years in the WA Corrections as a plumber. Repairing and installing commercial Hvacs, installing and maintaining industrial Heatmate hot water systems. Arnie worked on and repaired the pumps and the wastewater treatment plant. He has repaired all the installed reticulation systems. Whilst there he also installed new gas ovens, commercial stoves for the main kitchen and combi ovens including running new gas lines. He repaired burst pipes in the facilities and also in the cells. He was also responsible for commissioning all new gas equipment

Arnie has also worked at the Perth International and Domestic Airports. Installing new hot water systems, and servicing and unblocking main sewer lines. He has repaired burst pipes and was involved in installing and servicing gas equipment at various vendors shops at the airport. He also has been involved in repairing, installing, replacing and testing backflow prevention valves. Also, fixing broken cisterns, automatic flush valves in the ablution blocks and passenger toilet facilities. Work also involved installing new automatic sensor taps in wet areas of the airport.
